Charge Detail:
A 23-year-old Euclid man has been sentenced to eight years in prison on multiple child pornography charges, Cuyahoga County Prosecutor Timothy J. McGinty announced today.

Robert L. Santini, III, was arrested on July 1 following an investigation led by the Ohio Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force. Investigators discovered that Santini had been sharing numerous child pornography files via his tablet computer. The majority of the files depicted the sexual assault and abuse of children under the age of two years old.

On September 15, Santini pled guilty to 22 second-degree felony counts of Pandering Sexually-Oriented Matter Involving a Minor, two second-degree felony counts of Illegal Use of a Minor in Nudity-Oriented Material or Performance, 14 fourth-degree felony counts of Pandering Sexually-Oriented Manner Involving a Minor, three fifth-degree felony counts of Illegal Use of a Minor in Nudity-Oriented Material or Performance and one fifth-degree felony count of Possessing Criminal Tools.

On October 28, 2015, Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Court Judge Shirley Strickland Saffold sentenced Santini to eight years in prison. Upon his release, he must register as a Tier II sex offender for 25 years.

“Robert Santini defended his actions to investigators by telling them he hadn’t had sexual contact or kidnapped any kids yet,” said Assistant Prosecuting Attorney Carl Sullivan, who represented the State of Ohio in this case. “But every one of the children in the images and videos he shared were subjected to despicable and horrifying abuse. For the next eight years, we don’t have to worry about this sick individual preying on our youngest and most vulnerable citizens.”
