Kent State professor arrested in Akron with 15-year-old boy
8/27/2015
AKRON, Ohio — A Kent State University English professor is facing
charges after officers found him in an SUV with a 15-year-old boy he met
online, police said.
The 44-year-old Willie Harrell is charged with an adult curfew
violation. Investigators believe Harrell intended to have sex with the
boy.
A caller told Akron police a suspicious SUV was parked in the parking
lot of Smith Elementary School about 11 p.m. Wednesday, Akron Police
Capt. Daniel Zampelli said Thursday morning.
Officers couldn't see inside the SUV when they arrived, so they
ordered the occupants to step outside and Harrell and a 15-year-old boy
got out of the car.
